In our “Emotions Palette” activity, children learn to recognize, express, and share their feelings through colors. We begin by exploring basic emotions such as happiness, sadness, anger, love, fear, and calmness, using pictures, mirrors, and simple role-play games.
To create a common emotional code, we all work with the same four colors: Red, Yellow, Blue, and Green.
Each child chooses a color, draws the emotion that the color makes them feel, and adds the emotion word both in English and in their mother tongue, with the teacher’s support. The creations can be individual drawings, group artwork, or even short videos. Afterwards, everything is uploaded to our shared Padlet in the correct color column.
The journey continues with collaboration: classes from different countries explore each other’s drawings, compare emotions, and leave simple comments in English. Together, we discover how the same colors can represent different feelings around the world.
A colorful way to express ourselves, connect, and learn from one another!
